Civil Registration

The Church of the Latter Day Saints (Mormon Church) microfilmed the indexes to the Civil Births, Marriages and Deaths for Ireland and has placed them on its FamilySearch website, which provides more than adequate information about the collection.  Once a likely ancestor’s index data have been acquired, it is possible to order a print from the microfilm of the actual records.

An alternative source is the General Register Office in Dublin, which has a research facility.and the P  It is also possible to search the indexes on several Internet sites.  The Irish Genealogical Research Society has a very informative page of information.
